Publication Frequency
Help: Journal of Community Service (HJCS) is a peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary, fully open-access journal published by PT Agung Media Publisher. HJCS publishes scholarly works in the fields of community service, community engagement, community empowerment, capacity building, community development, and related multidisciplinary areas.
Publication Schedule
HJCS is published four times a year on a regular quarterly schedule:
| Issue | Publication Month | Publication Period |
|---|---|---|
| Volume 1, Issue 1 | March | January–March |
| Volume 1, Issue 2 | June | April–June |
| Volume 1, Issue 3 | September | July–September |
| Volume 1, Issue 4 | December | October–December |
Accordingly, the annual publication frequency of HJCS is:
4 Issues per Year — March, June, September, and December
Regular Publication
HJCS follows a regular quarterly publication schedule to ensure consistency, predictability, and timely dissemination of scholarly contributions.
Each issue may contain research-based community service articles, community engagement reports, community empowerment studies, participatory research, case studies, reflective practices, methodological contributions, and other scholarly works that fall within the journal's aims and scope.
The number of articles published in each issue may vary depending on the quality and number of manuscripts that successfully complete the journal's editorial screening, double-blind peer-review, revision, and final editorial evaluation processes.
Editorial and Peer-Review Process
Manuscripts are not accepted solely to fulfill a predetermined number of articles per issue. Every manuscript must successfully complete the journal's editorial and peer-review procedures before publication.
The publication schedule does not affect editorial decisions. Manuscripts are evaluated based on their:
- originality;
- relevance to the journal's scope;
- methodological rigor;
- academic quality;
- ethical integrity;
- contribution to community service and community engagement; and
- potential contribution to knowledge and community practice.
This principle is important because transparent publishing practices require journals to clearly communicate their publication schedule while maintaining editorial decisions based on scholarly merit.

Publication Dates
For transparency, HJCS provides publication information for each article and issue through the journal's online platform. The journal also maintains the relevant article-level publication metadata, including publication dates and DOI information where applicable.
Clear publication dates are an important element of transparent scholarly publishing practices.
Special Issues
In addition to its regular quarterly issues, HJCS may occasionally publish Special Issues on specific themes relevant to community service, community engagement, community empowerment, sustainable development, or emerging multidisciplinary concerns.
Special Issues are subject to the same standards of editorial quality, peer review, publication ethics, and academic integrity as regular issues.
The publication of a Special Issue does not alter the journal's regular quarterly publication schedule unless explicitly announced by the Editorial Office.
Commitment to Timely Publication
HJCS is committed to maintaining its announced publication schedule and to providing authors and readers with a reliable and predictable publication calendar.
Any exceptional change to the publication schedule will be communicated transparently through the journal's official website and relevant editorial channels.
The journal's commitment to a consistent publishing schedule reflects its broader commitment to transparency, accountability, accessibility, and responsible scholarly communication.
