Help: Journal of Community Service (HJCS) was established as a scholarly platform dedicated to advancing knowledge and practice in community service and community engagement. The journal was founded with the vision of connecting academic scholarship with real community needs by providing a multidisciplinary space for researchers, academics, practitioners, and policymakers to disseminate research findings, practical experiences, innovative approaches, and community-based solutions.

Since its establishment, HJCS has embraced a Community-Based Research orientation and has encouraged participatory and collaborative approaches to community development. The journal promotes methodologies such as Participatory Action Research (PAR), Community-Based Research (CBR), Service Learning (SL), and Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) as important approaches for generating knowledge while strengthening meaningful partnerships between academic institutions and communities.

HJCS subsequently developed its publication framework as a peer-reviewed, fully open-access multidisciplinary journal, providing opportunities for scholars and practitioners from diverse disciplines to contribute to the advancement of community empowerment, capacity building, social innovation, sustainable development, and community engagement. The journal applies a double-blind peer-review process to maintain academic quality, integrity, and objectivity in the evaluation of submitted manuscripts.

The journal is registered with ISSN 3048-3069 and assigned the DOI prefix 10.62569/hjcs. HJCS is published by PT Agung Media Publisher and currently publishes four issues annually in March, June, September, and December. The journal continues to strengthen its editorial standards, publication ethics, peer-review practices, digital publishing infrastructure, and international scholarly visibility.
